Hell on Wheels: With some tour experience, many more practices, and a certified
"line up," TEAM ROCKIT ventured out to produce the slick-looking "Hell on Wheels" full-length
record. With drummer Matt Friscia now permanently back in Chicago, the band actually had time
to slave over thirteen new tunes, some of which were new incarnations of songs the band had
already been trying out at gigs for over a year.
Production of this album was also brought up a notch as well. The band recorded all tracks on a
1/2" Tascam recorder then dumped the tracks down to a digital editing format at Super Buddha
studios. The band invested in new studio gear, hired a graphic designer for the Hot Wheels theme,
and probably overpaid for editing in a digital environment. It could have also been simply that
it was hard to make the original studio tracks sound any more full with a pair of ADATs.
Besides the geeky production side, this would be last time you'd see Amber on a part of a
TEAM ROCKIT studio recording after she self-destructed in the middle of a tour in Boston. Ah,
such a shame, but definitely a great learning experience for the band with a "real" album in
the market. The TEAM ROCKIT fan base was born! For those of you holding on to Hell on Wheels,
don't let go as there were only 400 copies produced!
